Raves
I promised you this site wouldn't only be about sports. In Raves I will feature stuff (books, movies, tv shows, websites, music) that I have been into lately.
The Boolu Master The Boolu Master is the best DJ I have ever heard. He plays a very eclectic mix of white 80's music, Motown, disco, funk, hip hop, house and reggaetone without skipping a beat. The Boolu Breakfast Mix comes on from 8:00-8:20 am on Power 92.3 Hammond, Chicago. It's the only enjoyable moment of my work day. He also has an extended mix at 5:00 everyday. His website (which isn't quite up and running yet) is boolumaster.com (sorry I don't know how to link yet I am a fool.)
Best Week Ever On VH-1. Have you all ever seen this show? It's hilarious. The show basically reviews this week in pop culture. I don't know who these comedians are that make comments on the show but most of them are very funny. It comes on at 10pm on Friday nights but is replayed throughout the week.
IFC The Independent Film Channel is great. I have seen two interesting documentaries on it recently, "Dogtown and Z-boys" and "Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession." Dogtown is the documentary that this new movie "The Lords of Dogtown" is based on. The documentary tells about a group of kids who were inspired by a certain style of surfing and used it to invent skateboarding as we know it today.
Z Channel is about an eccentric (actually insane) director of programming on a movie channel in Los Angeles in the late 70's and early 80's. The Z Channel was revolutionary. They only played cool obscure movies. They would find copies of movies that had never been given a chance in Hollywood and put them on this very popular movie channel. These were the early days of cable tv at the time Z Channel was more popular than HBO. The movie is also about this eccentric programming director, Jerry Harvey, and his dysfunctional personal life.

Hey Mel, I saw part of that Andy Milligkisgus show. It had its moments. That kid is crazy. I just love that he was able to get his own show on MTV. He got his start putting video of himself rapping on the internet and he got noticed. For those that don't know this Andy Millsomethingorother kid is a fat dorky looking white teen or even pre teen that kinda acts like a cross between Tom Green and Ali G.
At least that was what I gathered from the 10 minutes that I watched. He raps a lot and his flow isn't bad but look at him?
